The restack is bringing me here in 2025. I know some finance, C Suite types who swear by Mephisto loafers - makes sense they’d have a great trainer. My recent discovery and purchase I’m loving is Crown Northampton’s Adnit. Made to order, but has a perfect GAT/Plimsoll vibe. Had to look for a year+ to replace my Paul Smith Rabbit trainers (his line veered hard into balenciaga looking stuff).

Whoa! Glad you made it here cause this quest is timeless too haha

How do you like Crown Northampton? How do the soles feel? They look so thin. Actually, super intrigued by their concept of making sneakers without compromise and wonder if they succeed

So far, very impressed. One thing about the Adnit is that they are constructed it like a jazz shoe, so that might be too flimsy/minimal for people who need heavy, every day wear. And even though the cost was insanely earthbound, waiting 6-8 weeks for the shoes to get made and show up to find out if are comfortable/for you is one of those crazy internet gambles.

This is an awesome article. Truly enjoyed it.

I've been intending to get Filling Pieces Ace Spin for some time now, so was very glad to see them mentioned in your article. Also I believe Onitsuka Tigers deserve some space here as well :)

Thank yo bro! I appreciate it so much🙏 I like how Ace Spin have a bit of a vibe of Rhude Rhecess which obviously took a lot of inspo from Nike Terminator haha

Which Onitsuka Tiger sneaker is you favorite?

Onitsuka Tiger GSM is the one. Not only design wise, but I am also a big fan of their durability. I've owned a full white version for 3 years now and have used them quite a lot: they are still looking pretty sharp!
